 My research field is structural bioinformatics. To the aim of elucidating on a structural basis the mechanisms underlying specific biomolecular functions, I apply bioinformatics tools to the analysis of protein and RNA sequences and to the analysis and prediction of their tertiary structure.

 

My current research fields of interest include:  

- relationships between 3D-structure and functional diversity in aquaporins;

- analyses of the tRNA structure and of defective yeast mt tRNA mutants;

- modelling of human antibodies involved in celiac disease. 

 

Previous research fields of interest:   
     -  HCV: sequence variability and structure prediction of viral proteins;

-  HIV: conformation of peptides mimicking the GP160 cleavage site.
